Award Nominations

NSIF has two yearly awards, one for a deserving graduate student and one for long term dedication to the swine genetics industry.

NSIF also does a poster and lightning talk competition open to all graduate students. Please apply below.

Lauren Christian Graduate Student Award

This award is targeted at excellent graduate students working in swine genetics.

$750 stipend
30-min presentation at the 2025 conference (Oct 14th, 2025)
Poster presentation

Distinguished Service Award

The NSIF Distinguished Service Award is dedicated for those who spent much of their career advancing the swine genetics industry or related fields.

We would appreciate the nominator and winner to be present on Tuesday Oct 14th for a quick announcement during the conference.

Graduate Student Lighting Talk and Poster

This competition is open to all graduate students and we ask you prepare the following:

3-min lightning talk (late afternoon Oct 14th, 2025)
Poster presentation (late afternoon Oct 14th, 2025)
Awards (5): $300, $250, $150, $100, $100 given to places 1-5 (Lauren winner not eligible)
